Waiting for Santa [and other things]...

Here we are waiting to have our picture taken with Santa. Flash is on the reindeer substitution list if someone gets sick. Let's be honest - greyhounds would get the job done *much* faster than reindeer.

Gracie arrives one week from today. Whheeeee! I think. We're afraid she'll be a little whirling dervish. She weighs in at 59.6lbs as of the day she was spayed. About 5lbs bigger than Evie.

And... to get a bit of background about Evie and fun sports, take a look over at Never Say Never Greyhounds - or click the link on the right. Jennifer is re-posting the article about Evie that appeared in the Spring 2005 CG Magazine.

Evie, I'm still amazed that you're the same hound I've been reading about who coursed the Waterloo Cup! I bow to you!

Your antlers are awesome!

Poor little coursing greyhound subjected to reindeer antlers. :-) But hey, its an American thing, right? :-) I'm really enjoying sharing Evie's story on my blog. Getting over 100 hits per day.

Just thought I would say Hi. I've been reading about your Evie's adventures at Never Say Never Greyhounds. What fun! In addition to greyhounds it looks like we also share a love of cats and knitting. :-)

greys would get the job done faster, but santa would get whiplash. Or else he'd re-emerge from the chimney to see 8 slackers on their backs roaching if the roof's in a warmer winter or doing silly snow-zoomies in a colder one.

I love the look on their faces as though they have the santa culture in their genetics. they look like a child who is hopeful but also afraid of the man with the naughty list.

Thank you everyone for your comments...especially those visiting from Jen's site. England seems like 100 years ago!

And Michael O'Donovan would certainly need a stiff drink [or 10] if he saw Evie trussed up in reindeer antlers! Most trainers were disgusted at the fact that I let Evie sleep in bed with me :)

Hi Cindi
I loved Evie story on Never Say Never blog. Whoever wrote the story is an excellent writer.
What kind of greyhound things are you doing these days?

Because Evie's retired now, I'm hoping to get her new brother Flash settled & try something new - possibly obedience. Maybe the straight or oval racing...we'll just have to see - but the dogs always seem happier when they're out-n-about!

Helen, your favorite greyhound "John" wrote the article. :-)
